Christians ready to reclaim their native soil in Qaraqosh

In the last days, some cities around Mosul have been freed from the clutches of Daesh, therefore, many Christians will finally be able to return to their villages and cities.

After seemingly never-ending violence, hope finally arises on the horizon: they will return to their homes, and they will rebuild their lives in Qaraqosh, Qaramless, Bartala, Tell Keff or Ba’ashika, and other towns on the Nineveh plains, where Christians had lived for hundreds of years, until 2014.

In the words of Monsignor Amel Nona, Chaldean Catholic Archbisop of Mosul, “the only thing the Christians in the Nineveh plains have not lost is their Christian faith.”
