Franciscan Friar: a sense of hope is growing in Aleppo

Fr. John Luke Gregory, vicar general of the Archdiocese of Rhodes visited the Syrian cities of Homs, Damascus and Aleppo, where there are some Franciscan Friars in charge of running schools and helping with food and medicines for Syrian citizens.

In Aleppo, despite the fact that there are whole suburbs completely flattened, it seems that the heavy shelling of the war has stopped and people are already trying to have again their ordinary lives. A sense of hope is returning to a country that has been suffering for more than six months of war.
