Is it possible to keep faith and hope in the Middle East?

“In the Middle East, living Christian faith nowadays, we know, it is not easy(…) Keeping hope in this situation is truly difficult, and at the same time very important. Therefore, the limited Christian presence in the Middle East must feel the support and proximity of the whole Church”. These were the words of Cardinal Leonardo Sandri, Prefect of the Congregation for Eastern Churches, during the collection’s presentation for the Holy Land this year. In a letter he highlighted the importance of rediscovering the significance of Holy Sites, and with them the value of those Christians who live in the Middle East.
