Manuscripts saved from ISIS control

It was the beginning of August 2016 when ISIS was about to reach Qaraqosh in Iraq, when Dominican Fr. Najeeb felt that it was the right time to flee. He decided to carry precious and ancient manuscripts written in Syriac with him, to prevent them from falling into terrorists hands. Those manuscripts are a sign of Mesopotamia’s glorious past, and were used by the first Christian communities.

Nowadays, the manuscripts are still hidden in Kurdistan, waiting to be sent to the houses and Churches that will be someday reconstructed.
