On May 24, a Philippine terrorist group kidnapped a priest and 15 worshipers in the city of Marawi (Philippines).
Given these facts, the Catholic community has launched a prayer campaign for the release of the hostages. Cardinal Orlando Quevedo, Archbishop of Cotabato has asked for prayers in an interview with Veritas Radio, “We pray for the salvation of the hostages. We appeal to the conscience of the kidnappers so that they do not kill innocent people.”
On the other hand, social networks have spread the hashtag #PrayForMarawi, with which many people have joined in the prayers of the Philippine faithful for those who have been kidnapped.
