Maryam, an 11-year-old Tunisian girl, suffers bullying at her school because she is the only Christian in her class. She is accused, intimidated and despised by her classmates and even some teachers. The intimidation of Christians at schools in North Africa is part of their day-to-day life.
The parents of these Christian children are obviously upset with the schools, because their children are being harmed. However, when the students come home and tell their parents what happened, they can only listen, comfort them and help them stand firm in their faith. “We try to teach them that, despite such hostility, they should pray, even for those who intimidate them.”
