Christians and Muslims together in WYD Asia

More than 2,000 young people from 22 different countries have participated in the Asian WYD, which took place in Indonesia between July 31 – August 6. Also present were 160 young Muslims, who participated in countless activities alongside young Catholics.

“This encounter reinforces the bonds of understanding, dialogue and tolerance among young people of different religions: tolerance does not mean to remain silent or blindly support each other, but to be involved in a fruitful personal relationship that implies genuine exchange, dialogue and friendship, to grow together in mutual trust and esteem,” explained Fides Rifqi Fairuz, the main representative for the young Muslims present.
