Priest abducted in the Philippines is released

Fr. Chito Suganob, vicar general of the prelature of Marawi, Philippines, was abducted for the last four months by Maute terrorists. It is a terrorist group that has sworn allegiance to the Islamic State.

Yet, he managed to escape with another hostage, after he was kidnapped on May 23, 2017, when terrorists attacked the Marawi Cathedral. In the first interview he gave after his abduction, Fr. Suganob assured that he is physically well. He has asked for continued prayers for the Marawi inhabitants, who still suffer from continuous attacks by Maute terrorists.
