“I never want my mother to cry again”

Lole loves to play soccer and her dream is to become a coach. She is 17 years old and arrived in Kenya after a long journey with her mother and siblings. They were escaping from the Democratic Republic of Congo. In Kenya, she is forced to carry more than 20 liters of water under her arms and sell water on the streets.
In Kibera, Lole got to know the NGO the AVSI Foundation, which is present in the area with various projects. In addition to a reception center, this Italian NGO has set up schools of excellence such as “The little prince,” where 346 students are divided into 11 separate classes. In the center, there is no distinction among the children according to their religion: Muslims, Hindus, Protestants, Catholics and Animists all are free to study there.
