Six years later, they will celebrate Christmas in Syrian cathedral destroyed during the war

Catholics from Homs (Syria) will be able to celebrate Christmas Mass in the Melkite Greek Catholic cathedral six years after the beginning of the war. The temple was destroyed during battles between the Syrian military and terrorist groups.

The altar was consecrated again last December 1 by Msgr. Youssef Absi, the Melkite Greek Patriarch of Antioch, who pointed out the importance of reconstructing the city and its people without ever losing hope or being afraid.
