Coptic Orthodox bishop: “We’re not afraid.” The hope for a Christmas of peace and love

“Egyptians are brave, and bravery is typical of our Church,” says the Coptic Orthodox Bishop of El Cairo about the country’s situation. Coptic Egyptians have suffered various attacks in recent years, so much so that the police presence is constant.

The bishop also points out that in response to attacks by radical groups, many Muslims have helped them and feel a certain sympathy for Christians. In addition, recent numbers of Christians have increased despite the attacks.
