In Kabul, the new year starts with spring

“In this country, the year starts with spring. Spring is the season in which nature is reborn after winter. How much we would like nature’s spring to be accompanied also by a spring in society,” explains Fr. Giovanni Scalese. He is the pastor in Kabul, and host of the new year in Afghanistan, which is also celebrated in Iran and Iraq.
Fr. Scalese shares a message of hope on the Christian Passover celebration, “We would like all our Afghan brothers and sisters to share in the grace offered on this day. Christ has died for all of us, so Muslims and Christians alike can take advantage of the life that is reborn after the death of Jesus.”
