A place to eat for Syrian refugees

In Zahlé (Lebanon), thousands of refugees from Syria eat daily at the Table of St. John the Merciful, which is run by the local Greek-Catholic archdiocese in collaboration with Aid to the Church in Need.

The initiative was created after Pope Francis’ announcement of the Year of Mercy in the spring of 2015, says the archbishop of the Greek-Melkite diocese of Zahlé, Msgr. Issam John Darwish.
