Fadi Iskander received his ordination from the hands of the same bishop who ordained his father, Boulos Iskander Behnam, many years beforehand. On Sunday, July 15th Fadi became a priest of the Syriac Orthodox Church in Ankawa, a suburb of Erbil inhabited mostly by Christians.
His father, a Syrian Orthodox priest, was kidnapped in October 2006 in Mosul, in the industrial area of Karama. Attempts to contact the kidnappers to release him failed. He was brutally tortured and killed.
12 years later, the martyrdom of Father Boulos begins to bear fruit with the priestly vocation of his son Fadi. The sweet victory of Christ is reflected in the life of the martyrs.
