Thanks to their faith and trust in God the convent that survives in the most dangerous area of Nigeria

Zamfara, located in the northern part of the country is under the control of Boko Haram and the Fulani. There harassment and persecution occurs normally and it is a region where the Sharia, or Islamic, law is imposed.

There a group of 17 Dominican nuns survive in the face of religious extremism. However, in spite of so much suffering, they look around and see hope: “Nigerians are full of life.” One of reasons is the Church presence in the village. “Regular attendance at Church, our strong faith and trust in God give us the strength and helps us to survive day by day.”

Nevertheless, the community helps all Christians in the diocese of Gusau, helping people to help themselves.
