A Syrian mother, whose son was murdered, relies on her faith: “our roots must be rooted in God.”

This Syrian mother, far from despairing over the death of her son, has found great support in her faith to bear the tremendous pain of loss: “”As Christians, we believe in the resurrection, and after a few months of reflection and meditation on life afterwards, in the kingdom of God, I learned that the dead see us, hear us, and feel us. I discovered that above all else I could be proud of my son.”

This woman compares her faith to the roots of a tree, which sustain her in storms: “When we face the storms of life, we must stand like a strong tree, with the roots sunk deep into the ground. Our roots must be rooted in God. We must bear change and pain with confidence in His Love.”
