After being destroyed by war, the Christian community in Aleppo, Syria, has not given up on its future. Christians celebrate the rebirth of their community with Cardinal Bagnasco, the cardinal of Genoa, and the president of the European bishops.
Through the Custody of the Holy Land and the Association pro Terra Sancta, there have been many projects to help Christians in Syria. These projects have helped by giving work to those without and by rebuilding houses damaged in war.
Cardinal Bagnasco testifies, “I knew some families whose houses have been rebuilt. I saw a great joy in their eyes. At work, I saw great dignity and great confidence. I return home seeing that it is possible to rebuild.” He says this is why Christians should not give up on Syria.
