The Lower House of the Slovak Parliament has passed a resolution that seeks to increase efforts to safeguard religious freedom and support persecuted Christians and other religious minorities. The decision was the result of 145 votes in favor by the 150 MEPs of the European country.
The resolution was passed four months after a British Foreign Office report revealed that Christians are the most persecuted religious group in the world. “No one should be persecuted for their faith. The recognition of persecuted Christians and other religious minorities by the Slovak parliament is an important political step. After recognition, it´s time to act,” said Robert Clarke, director of European Advocacy at ADF International.
