In the drama of the war in Syria, Catholics remain a model of solidarity

The Asia News Agency reports the passages of a letter sent by Father George Sabe, of the blue Marists, which expresses great concern about a conflict that continues after nine years.

The war in Syria does not stop. There are hundreds of thousands of victims, dozens of cities destroyed and up to a million people who, just a few weeks ago, had sought escape to the Turkish border: the worst mass exodus since the beginning of the conflict for the United Nations.

In this context, Father Sabe underlines, the humanitarian and social work promoted by Catholics remains fundamental, which has never ceased during all the years of the conflict and which remains a model of openness and solidarity, an example of defending the interests of the most poor.
