The UN secretary-general calls everyone to work together to fight hate crimes based on religion and beliefs. His aim is to promote inclusion and respect for diversity.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres, said that “we continue to witness deep-seated discrimination against religious minorities, attacks on people and religious sites, and hate crimes and atrocity crimes targeting populations simply because of their religion or belief.”
Aware of the COVID situation, he thinks that “this extraordinary moment,” he said, “calls on all of us to work together as one human family to defeat a disease and put an end to hate and discrimination.”
